I had some trouble finding how to do this, so I came here to make a post about how to host a domain you already own on Wealthy Affiliate.
I have been using Godaddy for purchasing my domain names for many years and I have a couple dozen domain names with them. I find it easier to keep all my domains in one spot – so I tend to keep buying with Godaddy.
If you have worked with Godaddy before – it's pretty easy to change the name servers. You need to know what those nameservers ARE.
Inside Wealthy Affiliate – go to SiteRubix – then Site Domains – and scroll to the bottom – you will see this.
Now, go over to Godaddy and go to Domain Manager — Domains and find the domain you want to host at Wealthy Affiliate.
Click on the name of that site and it will bring you to Domain Settings. Scroll down to the bottom and you will see Manage DNS – click on that.
Scroll until you see “Nameservers” – you want to use “custom nameservers”
You need to put in both
ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com
and Press save.
Now, you can go back to Wealthy Affiliate — again
go to SiteRubix – then Site Domains – and scroll to the bottom (same as above)
Where it says – “Add your domain here” – put in the domain name that you just pointed the nameservers from godaddy.
Now, you can follow the training inside Wealthy Affiliate for moving your free site over to the hosted domain name.
This is under the “Certification Course” Course 2, Lesson 2 (Premium members only)
